As you are probably aware Darren Bispham, manager of Singleton Barn, passed away after a battle with cancer within the past few weeks.
Singleton Barn have been a big part of our pool league for many years and I am sure you will join me in sending your condolences on to his family and the Singleton Barn family that lives and breathes the pub. Darren committed his time and effort to even play in the league himself years ago and will be sorely missed by all.
There is a celebration of life for Darren on the 25th June from 2pm. Darren and his family extend the invite to all to ensure his life is celebrated and remembered as it should be.
RIP Darren from all within The APL

Plus a potential of 2 more events during the season.
Best of luck to all, have a great season.
Congratulations to Sammy Foreman, Singleton Barn A on winning the APL Ladies KO.
Sammy went undefeated on the night to win the first APL Ladies KO.
7 Ladies from our league did battle at the British Rail Club to find our first winner. Thanks to the British Rail Club for hosting the evening.
The League aim to make this an annual event.
Well Done Sammy!
This Thursday, another successful season will reach a conclusion. We would like to thank all players, captains, venues and landlords as without all of these the competition wouldn't exist.
This season has flown by, I hope everyone has enjoyed the matches and banter throughout the calendar where competition has been healthy but also enjoyable for all levels of players.
The APL continues to grow, this year we had one team representing Ashford in the Kent INTER league, we are delighted that next season, after some difficulties were overcome ASHFORD B Has now been successful with appeal and will be playing interleague this coming season! the new captain Kenny Sharpe has been instrumental and a credit to the league in his efforts pushing this over the line. due to news that broke during this season, many local leagues are following in our footsteps as international rule set makes huge steps forward for 2023. All interleague and events will now be contested with these rules adopted. having had a season learning these rules, we wish Ashford A and Ashford B the best for the new season.
I've created a short summary for each division to update all before this weeks final league games.
2ND DIVISION;
Newly crowned Champions THE ELWICK CLUB, will be promoted and contest in our 1st division next season, 2nd also now confirmed with Ashford Club B awaiting a playoff to gain promotion, where they will travel to the team finishing in 8th in the 1st division. Ashford club will have to win 8 in 15 frames to be promoted at the expense of their opponent.
THE PLAYER OF THE SEASON, will be decided on the final night, with a slight buffer Steve Cooper is two winning frames away from retaining or winning the prize again. hot on his heals, 2nd and 3rd cannot drop frames if they hope to take the top place. Therefore this week league games that will decide our P.O.S! Ashford club B travel to Rose B, and AC RISING FROM PHOENIX will travel to Balls up the Arc.
1ST DIVISION
Much like Div2, Our top 2 are now confirmed, Runaway leaders ALBION ACES will be promoted as champions, for the 1st time in asking as they were relegated due to a reformat. The second team from ASHFORD club and the A team are also awaiting a playoff! they await a trip to either The Albion D, OR Rose Inn A where they must win 8 in 15 frames to gain promotion.
At the foot of the table it has been tight for weeks, and we are yet to decide whom will get relegated. a crunch game at Matches where they host Lunas Loco, to put this this into context, matches and social have to win to then swap places, and then will be in a playoff rather than automatic relegation. history could be made, with both LOCO teams being relegated, or will LUNA survive and then they both contest in the same league next season.
BEAVER A incidentally are safe due to head to head results. The PLAYER OF THE SEASON champion is DION ORRIS. Dion has been in fine form for a couple of seasons and has quite a buffer over 2nd place, he has been called up and will play INTERLEAGUE next season and will represent the A TEAM. well done Dion, great season.
THE PREM
With the JOHN MORRISON MASTERS weeks away, every frame around the venues is precious to those trying to reach that top 16 qualification from the year! this is combined stats from two seasons and a seeded comp!
But before we get to the masters, we still have much t be decided......................................................
I start at the foot of the league, LOCO B last week were condemned to relegation. the 1st time in history, losing to ALBION D. a lot of history to be made this week, can The ROSE A also be one of the only promoted teams not go straight back down, at the half way point, the ROSE looked pretty doomed, but they have had a incredible second half, but there job is not yet complete they travel to play the LOCO. not far away, ALBION D simply have to win at Home to L8 KNIGHTs, or better the ROSE outcome. SO the ALBION need LOCO B, the team they relegated to help them!! what a night we will have.
At the top, MAGIC, once again champions, after beating dukes head last week, they now face CON ARTISTs, THE DUKES now in 3rd, will play 4th sloppy seconds, where it isn't just bragging rights and league finishing positions at stake, as Individually many fighting to be in or as high up the masters leader board. Con artists can complete a superb campaign if they avoid defeat, they will finish 2nd, due to head to head with Dukes head.
finally, PLAYER OF SEASON, a week ago statically 9 players in contention, the last evening it is down to 3! Dan Nisbet and Mick bell-hughes must win all three! yet Our current masters champion does not tend to let a lead drop, JOE CRONIN needs 1 frame to be crowned PLAYER OF THE SEASON for 6th season, all the way back to 2018 winter!
details will become LIVE very soon for THE NEW SEASON, registration details will be shared with all current captains. Any new teams and venues please contact the league where will try to accommodate all.
TO all Players and teams We wish you all the best this week, and look forward to welcoming you for another season very soon.
ps. NEXT WEEK JIM WILLIAMS X PRS returns where 16 COMMENCE and we will have our last 4 pairs BY THE END OF THE NIGHT.

Good evening all,
As previously mentioned through our Captains Page, This week we welcome the addition of two new teams from The Rose INN.
These two teams occupy, and take over the two byes we previously had wk. 1+2 from each division. Wk 1 Byes, have now been re scheduled for the catch up night on 4th November 2021. this will only require Match day 2: L8 Night vs Rose Inn A + Rose B vs Singleton Barn to be arranged during the season when this can be fitted in.
Please Assist Both teams and captains, so they are welcomed into our league as smoothly as possible.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New Score Sheet has now been added to website: this has also been sent to all captains via what's app page. In the event of a draw, is the home team captain that is responsible for sending through on the group on the night. otherwise is the winning captain. Please remember both captains to sign the sheet off on the night.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, but certainly not least important. Two weeks on Thursday THE JIM WILLIAMS cross Pairs 2021/22 will commence on 30th Sept. This night has been assigned to this event which will be a knock out tournament process. as previously requested, when sending in your results this week. please also send me a message with your pairings for this tournament. Those that cannot remember the format, basically as follows, ( P1 vs P1) (P2 vs P2) (P1+2 VS P1+2 Dutch) ( P1 vs P2 ) & ( P2 vs P1 )
Jim was a superb gentlemen, and extremely well liked, He played and supported the league longer than I can remember! would be superb, if we get at least two pairs from every team, if we can get three would be fantastic for this great event. pending numbers this may be divisional, but I need all entrants before 17th Sept 2021. as mentioned this replaces league games, so should be a well received event with lots of entrants.
the venues and Ties will be drawn on the 24th Sept. but in order to format, we need in as mentioned above.
Kind regards
ZACK HARDEN

On the Eve, before we finally get our league back up and running, 77 weeks have passed since our last competitive games on 12th Mar 2020!
I’m delighted that we can finally begin to look forward, and contesting our tables once again!
It just as important that we remember, those we’ve sadly lost due to Covid, and through many other illness. Since we last played, some
55 weeks ago, we lost one of the finest gentlemen’s the game has seen, in our very own Jim ( James Williams). This would be the 1st season, that has commenced without this fine man taking part. When I commenced playing 23 years ago jim was still then one of the oldies. This man will always be missed but never forgotten. Due to players arrivals tomorrow night always being a little in different. Please could I ask at 9pm regardless we pause, and surround our tables, and just give thought to all those lost but never forgotten, 1 mins observed silence from all pool players!
In just 4/5 weeks time, In honour of Jim, on the 30th Sept. The Jim Williams Cross pairs 2021 will commence! Please May I ask, all pairings to be sent to me no later than wk 3: 16th Sept. so I can complete draw and venues.
Finally, apologies for long message, Has been a while, delighted to welcome you all back along, Hope you all enjoy being back, and look forward to a good challenging season with some laughter and good nights along the way.

Good morning all, As a new year begins, we hope that 2021 things begin to repair, some point soon
We will begin to put this virus behind us! I hope that you all had the best Christmas possible, under circumstances, I wish you the very best wishes and health for 2021!
It has been far too long since I’ve seen us all socializing and competing. To all those sadly lost, throughout this pandemic, I know has been very difficult to come to terms with especially when we all are isolating, Normally I’d be configuring and looking forward to the masters, but that will not happen. But health and everyone’s wellbeing is all that is important!
Let’s make sure we don’t forget those that have been taken, not just because of Covid, but to all those that have passed. One thing that I definitely want to conclude is the Jim Williams trophy, when we are safe to do so we will complete this, and then look forward to welcoming all players and venues back as we look forward in 2021! For now take care and hope that we can return ASAP.

Good evening All,

We appreciate your support and will Endeavor to provide updates and support information when available.
Our sincere apologies to each and every venue, but this is a government notice that we must abide too. Our season will Continue, when we are informed it is safe to do so.

Good afternoon all,
last week we kicked off our NEW summer 2020 season! I'd like to thank all teams for embracing changes and their commitment to the APL.
upon committee discussions in the closed season period we decided to put forward a few changes:
As many of you may be are Jim Williams from The LOCO B has been a long term dedicated player within the APL. this season has commenced and sadly as yet Jim has not returned due to health issues that occurred a few times during last season. Personally I've know Jim since we played in the Charing and district league some 22 years ago and since that folded has been a regular competitor in the APL. We all at APL wish Jim a speedy recovery, and are honored to reward his dedication to the league by Naming a New Trophy for Him.
The league committee will also nominate a few candidates that will be put before the league players to acknowledge outstanding achievement or commitment to the APL on a yearly basis. Of which one player/ representative from a venue will receive the award.
This season, THE JIM WILLIAMS TROPHY will be contested by a Knockout # CROSSED PAIRS #
A very brief description of this,
*A MATCH WILL CONTESTED BY two teams of Two players, and 5 FRAMES OF POOL
* PLAYER A vs PLAYER A
* PLAYER B vs PLAYER B
* DUTCH DOUBLES FRAME A&B VS A&B
* PLAYER A vs PLAYER B
* PLAYER B vs PLAYER A
More details will follow ASAP once names have been received. This WILL BE PLAYED ON THURSDAY NIGHTS during THIS season!
1ST ROUND is 12th MARCH 2020
2ND ROUND is 4th June 2020
FINALS NIGHT is 2nd July 2020
Out of respect, I hope that this competition is well received by all and we get plenty of entrants.
Please complete registrations through your captains, by no later than THURSDAY 27TH FEB.
Many thanks

Sunday 26th January;
we contested the last pool matches from the 2019 seasons! I'd like to thank Mark, his staff at the Ashford club for hosting this amazing event for the 3rd year running.
The Masters, named in memory of John Morrison, is the most prestigious title available, and is a seeded competition that contests the top 16 players of the calendar year, the full draw and results can be seen under view tab, top of page, and then scroll to tournaments.
Doors opened @ 12pm, with Seeds 1-4 J. Yerrall, J.Cronin, D. Nisbet & D.Riley all kicking off the competitions with 1st four matches.
145 frames were played on the day until we had a new champion, seeds 1, 2, 3 all through to the semi finals without much scare, possible the outsider performance of the day was seed 12 Matt Clifford, who knocked out seed 4 in quarter final, after already a tight encounter with teammate Alec Blythe 6-4 in round 1. I think with all respect to all players seed 4, Dave had the harder draw than the other top seeds, with a 1st round match vs last years quarter finalist Dan Morrison.
the semi finals, the standard was raised, as seed 1, Jamie Yerrall, fended off 12, Matt Clifford for an 8-4, the other semi final contested former two times reining champion, seed 2 vs 3, Joe Cronin vs Daniel Nisbet, this was quite some match, 3 Dan, was in great form and led from the start it appeared that he would regret missed opportunities, as his performance was commanding he never rallied away and Joe was not giving up, Dan held on to win 8-5
so A brand new name will be engraved on the JOHN MORRISONS MASTERS TROPHY,
THE FINAL contested BY Jamie Yerrall (1) vs Dan Nisbet (3) commenced a little shakey to start with with the 1st frame looking really important not to concede, Jamie took and early lead, 3-0, this match intensified through the middle patches, and tensions were high and the stakes even higher, Dan Fought back to 4-4, Jamie took initiative once more in frames 9, 10, Dan Pulled back the 11th Frame with a great clearance to give hope of a comeback @ 5-6 down, Jamie then once more pulled away, with the 12th and the 13th Frame being decisive as a tactical game, with full use of the deliberate ruling, This put our seed 1 player one frame away from being champion, Dan unable to nestle a tight snooker when critical, then Jamie cleared to finished the frame to complete the day and 145th frame in 9 hours To become our
NEW JOHN MORRISON MASTERS CHAMPION!!
WELL DONE JAMIE YERRALL!!
Finally, thank you to all players that played and supported during the day, the tournament and seasons could not be possible without your commitment and dedication to the APL.

Good evening all,
Last night we held the final set of league matches, before I acknowledge the victorious teams and Players, we would like to thank every Venue, Teams, captains and all players for their Commitment and support To the APL and another for superb season!
The Premier 2019 CHAMPIONS once more, for the 4th occasion in a row, and a second unbeaten season goes to Charing Magic, Their last defeat in the league was at the hands of this seasons Runners Up Bash N Hope, on 10th May 2018. a fantastic record, and shows the consistency this team have.
This Seasons Premier player of the season, went right to the wire, on the last night, this swung between two teammates, J.Cronin ( 86% ) & D.Nisbet, Joe just piping Dan to the award by one frame, the same difference has separated them from the 2019 masters seeding, Our defending 2 times John Morrison's Masters Champion, will try to retain his title starting from 2nd seed for the 1st time in the competitions 3rd year. Dan will line up 3rd seed.
The 1st Division has been the tightest campaign I can remember, 4 teams at the top of the league playing to be champions in the last set of fixtures. 3rd Place Phoenix taking advantage of John Wallis who were 4th and were victorious over 1st place Ashford Club A, Phoenix gained the 7 points they needed, and The George B who were in second, a 9-6 win @ Queens Head A, just 1 frame shy, So the top 3 all tied on 192, JW on 190,
Phoenix ARE 2019 Champions by Matches Won!
Ashford Club A Runners up: also by Matches Won, and will Face Sellindge Social Club for a place in the Premier league.
Division 1 : Player of the season goes to George B captain Nathan Malthouse with 82.5%
Before we arrive at Presentations, Next week 23.01,2020 we Have the following matches, Please feel free to come and support, the teams all battling for Honors.

This past week, has been a very dark time for the pool league, and public as we try to come to terms with the horrific attack on Ettienne Bailey last Thursday when the Harvey were scheduled to play Pro’s and cons @ the Harvey in the team KO.
I know this has been very disturbing, and effected a lot of players that were present, and will continue to do so during Tiny’s recovery process.
The league, all players and members of the public have given so much support, and the strength that we all find within is mind blowing.
On Sunday 18th Aug. Ashford A, pool team, were due to host run away division leaders Maidstone A at the Woolpack, not all of you may be aware of this, but Tiny has been a key figure in the inter league set up for the past few seasons, I cannot remember him missing a game, even if he missed many of shots...... but with the events that occurred, and also the struggles that captain Gary Huckstepp has had in fielding a team this season, it was considered extremely briefly that time had come to throw the towel in. But the league stood strong and all players came out in full support Sunday night! We witnessed a spirit, determination in the team and a desire to play for tiny. Ashford A. On Sunday night, played as Team Tiny, and if not for a last frame dish by Maidstone A player could have won our 1st game of the season. But a 9-9 draw!... the 1st team to take points from Maidstone, which should have been more was delightful. I know I speak for Gary, and say that we both as other players were proud to part of the team. The league will continue to support all where we can.
Ettienne and family have been so surprised by the volume of support and visitors that have all been so generous come to see Tiny.
From all at Ashford pool league. We hope that Tiny has a speedy recovery, we know he is in the right place to be cared for, and all professionals at the hospital will continue to do an amazing job!
Please continue to support the go fund me page for Ettienne.

Good evening all,
As another wonderful season approaches its final weeks, I’d like personally to thank all players captains and venues for another great season that has flown passed without any issues.
• The league will extend one week to facilitate Charing Magic’s v Pro’s & Cons to be played on 4.07.19. The committee have reached his decision due to the original game not being able to be played due to other higher pool commitments. This game may have a impact on division placings that may become vital for next season. Due to other cancelled games this has been very difficult for captains to replay.
• For clarification purpose, Communications between the APL and ACPL have briefly commenced. Proposals or details have been exchanged between committee members from each league to establish if a merge could be looked at for 2020. ACPL host their annual AGM this week, we as a committee will then act on what we believe is on the best interest for Ashford Pool Players. ( please do not worry, this may be expanded upon in our coming SGM) and your opinions will be heard.
• As discussed at our AGM. It is with our best intentions that next season we aim to run Three divisions. This will provide us a more teams competitively in each division. Due to this particularly for the premier it makes these last few weeks very interesting. Re-formatting the divisions was discussed in detail at the AGM and divisional placings will determine positions for next season. More info will follow.
• Team Knockout with division handicaps as used before will return next season.
• For any proposals for our SGM, or Feedback please either use our captains page, or feel free to contact me to discuss.
• Our 2019 Summer presentations, Registrations for Winter 2019 season and SGM will take place on Thursday 11th JULY. Venue and more details to follow.
• YOUR WINTER 2019 season will Kick off on
18th JULY 2019
• Finally Any New teams or players are more than welcome to join the APL. Please contact me for more information if desired.
Good luck to all contesting leagues, player of season and all trying to climb into the top 16 in the premier for half way race For 2019 John Morrison MASTERS.

Congratulations to our 1st ever Dutch Doubles Quarter Finalists.
All finals are due to be played @ The Ashford club, as they were awarded finals in order for multiple Game’s on a night, therefore not hosting any matches within the competition until this late stage.
I’d kindly suggest where possible home players are keeped away from their typical home table with exception to final which I hope the best table will be available for use.
Due to Valentine’s Day falling on a Thursday night, and had been planned for finals night, we are trying to reaccommodate and get these fixtures played ASAP, many discussions our ongoing, and been held. New final date will be given ASAP. This will conclude semi finals and final.

Good evening all,
Tomorrow, OUR brand new Dutch doubles KO, will commence, from 42 initial teams, we then increased to 44, unfortunately yesterday losing participation from 3 pairs reducing to 41. Although this is a great start with numbers, I hope everyone enjoys this format and next time we have more included.
Although this has been a little headache, I have taken this upon myself, to edit a few fixtures. I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THIS IS PURELY completed as fairly as possible, From my Pool opinion, Nobody wants to go through without playing, and we want to facilitate trade to all venues.
HOST'S 6, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, ALL CHANGES PLEASE CHECK!
PLEASE CHECK ONLINE, TO MAKE SURE YOUR TEAM PAIRS GO TO THE CORRECT VENUE.
Last season, Our team KO, QF we only played 1 from 4 QFinals, this degrades the competition, I want all those that Qualify to earn their place in the next round, and Most importantly enjoy the company and pool matches tomorrow evening.
some matches are contested as 4's, and some 6's, which will be either 1st to 3, or 1st to 8!
To clarify on a few simple Rules,
1) 1st Matches to commence at 8:15 latest! if not, as league rules -1 frame, and a additional frame lost every 5 mins after.
2) Dutch Doubles, is a team game, which we believe will help all players improve, discussions between double partners is absolutely fine.
3) PLEASE make sure players are concentrating, and turns are taken in sequence. OUT of sequence shot could resolve in loss of frame.
4) IF ANY PAIRINGS do not show up on the night, then the format will alter from best of 5, to best of 15. OR worse case only 1 team they will go straight through to next round.
5) Please could winning pairs to every match, text me through the result. 07843438201

Good evening all,
We now have the line up for the semi finals, which by the end of next Thursday 19th July @ the ASHFORD club, one of the below team will become TKO 2018 champions!
Although during the season this competition has been a little rocky, I am delighted for the second season running we find 1st division teams giving their all and challenging the Premiership elite teams, this is really encouraging and shows the benefit of the handicap system.
What ever the outcome next Thursday, Ashford club B, and OPOWSA have had a great season, well done to you both!
What may be considered as the two favourites, and finishing level on points including frame difference may see PREMS winners and runners up go head to head once again for final honours!
Semi finals to commence sharp @ 8pm. As the final will follow.
29) The Magic 0 v 2 Ashford Club B
30) Bash n Hope 0 v 2 OPOW SA

Good evening All,
Firstly I'd like to thank Mark, and The Ashford club for allowing us to host the APL OPEN yesterday, and provide us with tables for the day,
I'd then like to thank all the players for supporting and taking part, was a great day, even after Game 8 marathon between Mick Bell Hughes v Gary Huckstepp was concluded 5-6, 165 min after they broke off, we just about had time to fit everything else in.
After 15 matches, 585 min including 132 competitive frames, I'd like to congratulate Jamie Yerrall beating Daniel Nisbet 7-3 to become the APL OPEN CHAMPION 2018. WELL DONE JAMIE.
The complete draw, including all results is available for your viewing through view, and Competitions.

Good evening all,
This coming Thursday 18th May is 2nd round of team knockout. A few discussions have been held this week with your committee and have come to the following conclusions.
1). Team KO rules were configured prior to season, with no changes and mid season is not correct timing to make changes. 50% matches attended in order to qualify will return as this was relaxed in the 1st round due to being so close to beginning of season.
2) venues were drawn out for complete tournament and games have to be played at these venues. I,d suggest lagging or tossing a coin for home team and then break. Games to be paid alternating between teams if venues do not open tables.
3) the committee would approve games to be rescheduled if games can not be played. Please note this needs approval from both captains and committee, I stress this is then the responsibility of the captains to arrange and have to be played before next round.
4) Due to the Bonny cravat withdrawing from the league, and the Windmill WMC becoming in. Due to them missing the 1st round. The commitee have come to conclusion with current rules they would be unable to join in at this stage. I will try to arrange a friendly for them for this week.
Please feel free to contact me, or any of commitee members should you wish to discuss any of the above.
Please remember to check if your players qualify to play this week. I have s list if you unsure message me and I can send for you.
Good luck to all participating this week. Hope is a great round.
Kind regards.

Good afternoon all,
As you are all aware we have lost The bonny team now for this season, Unfortunately the venue did not want to take on a replacement team for the rest of this season.
I am very pleased to announce that The WMC will be taking the place of the Bonny, FOR THIS SEASON THEY WILL FINISH, the campaign playing from the windmill. Many thanks to Ann from the Windmill assisting us to make this happen.
Please can all teams that will play Windmill WMC welcome, and help support the new team if needed in relation to rules, etc,
I have removed the penalty points that were imposed on the Bonny as I believe this was unfair punishment to a new team. We all want the league to grow and allowing them to enter now, we felt was the right thing to do, and allows them to get custom to how the league in run.
Kind regards,
Zack Harden

Good evening all,
unfortunately due to a lack of players, The Bonny cravat team under Jack steer has decided to withdraw from the league.
The past two weeks due to losing players they have been unable to field a team. at the last minute giving them two no shows.
We certainly do not want to lose teams as a committee or league, and Hope to have another team stand in as close as next week for the remaining of the season, to prevent additional byes. this new team will more than likely play from the Bonny Cravat, if we are successful with this the penalty points will be relaxed and they will continue with bonny's stats. I hope to have this resolved by Tuesday, so please keep a look out for notifications for next weeks games.
kind regards

Good evening all,
As previously mentioned, and documented on a few occasions too captains page, Next Sunday 8th April is scheduled for division 1 singles Knockout.
In order that i can finalise the details, venue etc, I need to have a minimum 16 players registered, to prevent venues or committee members wasting there own personal time. unfortunately we cannot hold this on a Thursday night as the calendar is full. Entry will be £2.00 per player.
Please can i remind you, we have tried to set this up for the players of the leagues, so everyone is considered,
Please can you let me know if you are going to attend, or ask your captain to inform me when posting your team result sheet.

Good luck to Kenny Sharp who will captain the side along with all players attending.
This week APL Team Knockout returns, for the 2018 season.
As a reference for new teams, see below from APL rules.
------------------------------------------------------------------
4. KNOCK-OUT EVENTS
4.1 league Knock-events, are for the purpose, of league players only. All league individual KO events, ( singles & doubles etc) cannot be individuals unless they are deemed a league player by playing at least one league game prior to event.
A player must have played in at least 50% of matches to qualify as a team player for knock-out.
4.2 In the event that a player who does not fulfil the criteria in 4.1 plays in any league KO event regardless of the score, either the team or individual will be disqualified and their opponents awarded the win.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Your committee has decided to relax the ruling in 4.1 with regard to the 50%, purely for the 1st round only, due to this being close to beginning of season. No new players can be registered, as players need to have played for their team this season. ALL RULES will apply from 2nd round.
Round 1 22nd March 2018

2) Minimum of frames played is 50% from both Summer and Winter campaigns individually. ( example, this season you must play 30 frames from 60 available)
3) From above point no 2, all stats will be combined, this will provide the Final 16 players. this will be updated as soon as your winter 2018 season completes.
Many Thanks

Description
This is definitely one of the hardest events any team or player can aspire to win. In order to enter you must first be your local league current champion(s) in one of three disciplines (Team, Individual, Ladies Individual). As if that wasn't hard enough you must then take on other local league players who have achieved the same feat in their local league.
In this competition the playing standards are high from the word go. The only thing you can be sure of is that it will get tougher and tougher the further you progress. It is only open to leagues affiliated to the English Pool Association, if your league is not affiliated contact the EPA secretary for details of affiliation.

We have one outstanding match to be played (completed) before the last game of the season.
Division 1
--------------------------------
Singleton Barn A v OPOW SB (PP mid-match due to a player health issue)
Good Morning All,
Due to a change in my work commitments, I shall be stepping down as league secretary and from the committee at the end of November 2017.
The committee has agreed that Zack Harden will become the new league secretary, most of the captains would have noticed Zack's involvement with the league operations has increased significantly over the last 12 months and is the ideal person to take the league forward and develop it further.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has been involved in the league throughout my 15 years on the committee.
I will still play within the league once my work commitments level out a little and look forward to seeing you on the tables.
All the best
Kenny
Good morning all,
As some if you are aware, we are repeatively having issues with either not receiving score sheets, or they are not being filled out correctly and incomplete.
The committee give up there own time as a voluntary service, purely for their passion of the game and trying to improve and develop your league for the better.
This issue with sheets has been going on since beginning of last season. We have discussed at AGMs this and penalties to be given. We have been very relaxed on this until now.
This is your final warning. As of the halfway turn point in season coming up in 2 weeks time 28th September, no reminders or exceptions. Please spend a few minutes making sure your sheet is complete prior to sending.
Incorrect sheet, Incomplete sheet, unsigned sheet or late or no sheet will incur 1 point automatic deduction.
This notice will be added also to WhatsApp chat group for captains notice.
I will also put a filled in template onto WhatsApp page.
Many thanks
Zack Harden
APL committee member.
Firstly, thank you to everyone for coming to presentation, and registration night last Thursday. some very good points were put forward and have been acknowledged. Big thank you for registrations for this coming season, It is very important for us, to feel that everyone is happy with proceedings, As this is YOUR league!
YOUR WINTER 2017 opening fixtures kick off this evening,As this new season commences, the committee are delighted to have Joseph Cronin join the board.
As you will see on the right, due to numbers registered, we have 2 larger divisions, A Prem, and 1st division. all teams have been placed into divisions based on there finishing position last season. We believe this will be greater value to venues as many more fixtures to be held at each venue this coming season.
PREM consists of 10 teams, therefore will be 2 byes per week, The 1st division has 11 teams so only 1 bye. the teams that this effect this week are LOCO A+B, from prem, and Singleton Barn A from division 1, I hope that these nights an be used for practices, or friendly matches.
As you are aware some rules were discussed, below a quick recap, all captains put themselves forward for a whats app, this is now live, and they have been sent details and rules as required.
1) If a team has a NO player, this has to be placed into position 5 in every set, this no player has the same condition as any other, therefore cannot be drawn against the same opponent.
2) LATE player arrivals, example, if a player on game 5, has not arrived by the time of his frame, then the match will move onto next set. the opposite team will claim this frame, the late player can still continue in later sets. ( THIS IS DOWN TO THE CAPTAINS AGREEMENT AT BEGINNING OF MATCH)
3)ALL MATCH RESULTS TO BE FILLED IN COMPLETE AND SIGNED BY BOTH CAPTAINS. this is then to be sent to WHATS APP GROUP, on the night, ( this does not change recording process ont web, which will continue as 8pm deadline on Monday after match.)
4) Referees can be used, if either captains suggest this then it shall be carried out. ( this should be discussed prior to match commencing)
5) rule 3 from above, if a captain is unavailable on the night, committee contact details can be found on section at top of page, please photo and send to a commitee member whom can upload to whats APP page.
A few teams in the prem have changed name or venue see below.
Plough Poke & Hope, this season will play from the Woolpack and be know as Plough Poke & Hope @WP
Albion E have moved to Willesborough Cons Club, will be known as Toomey's Cons
John Wallis Pot luck have moved to Windmill, and will be known as Windmill Pot luck.
if any concerns, complaints or questions relating to the above, please do not hesitate to contact any one of the committee members who will be able to explain more.

Good evening all,
last Thursday we had some very entertaining pool, We would like to congratulate the following teams and also to all the teams taking part on the night,
Ball bashing cons came back from a 2-0 disadvantage against Albion D, played at the Ashford club, Dan Morrison to seal the match winning decisive frame to seal a 8-4 result.
elsewhere, something quite strange for me, not to be playing at all, but to be assisting, refereeing and organizing 3 matches at the Plough which I believe was a thrilling night,
Both semi finals played out at same time, going to frame decider, on table 1, OPOWSB from 2nd division, took prem side Albion E to last frame, Ricky stewart showing great composure to seal decisive last frame, to send Albion into final!
On table 2, favourites Plough inn B, whom had a great 1st season in prem league took on 3rd place in 1st division and just missing promotion by 1 point, John Wallis Potluck, the plough took a 6-4 lead including the 2 given for handicap, but John Wallis came back strong to take final frame and book there spot in final.
Due to time passing, both teams agreed to play final on both tables. John Wallis commenced+2 and The Albion didn't really recover, they nicked a few games and a come back looked on the cards, but John Wallis played exceptional on the night, winning 8-5.
this was a great night, and I thank everyone for taking part and the venues for there support.
well done to all teams!
Kind regards

TEAM KNOCKOUT PLATE SEMI FINAL & FINAL
The Plough, will host 2 simultaneous semi finals

Team KO FINAL
-----------------------------------------
ALBION D 2-0 BALL BASHING CONNS
Team Plate Semi-Final (@ The Plough)
-----------------------------------------
OPOW SB 4 v 0 ALBION E
PLOUGH INN B 0 v 2 JOHN WALLIS POTLUCK
Final to be played on the SAME night.
Race to 8 for all games - winning captains to text Kenny on the night of the game.
Good Luck to all teams!
Good evening all,
Firstly I'd like to thank-you all for playing your part in a fantastic, exciting and competitive season, with the last league fixtures being held this week! many positions at top and bottom still being contested right up to the wire.
PREM : With the TOP 4 all playing one another, no game will be easy, Ashford club A can win league if they draw, win or match the Plough poke & Hope result. A loss for Poke & Hope would see Ashford club champions regardless of their result. Poke & Hope will be champions only by winning there game, and Ashford club lose.
The foot of the league is very interesting with 2 of any of 3 teams to be relegated, bottom of table Loco A travel to Plough B knowing 3 points will see them survive, The Albion E host The windmill A in what could be a relegation playoff, however a draw enough for windmill, but Albion need win to leap windmill. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS!
1ST DIV : The Pheasant A confirmed as division champions with their win last week, return to prem league next season after a few seasons in div 1. well done!
Runners up and also promotion still being contested, with two difficult matches, firstly The plough inn visit the pheasant knowing 3 points will take them up, John Wallis travel to the windmill B, knowing 3 points will leap frog them above the plough if the plough lose. however The windmill need to win to be assured of dodging relegation. The Bonny cravat need to win against relegated OPOW SA or better the windmill result to swap places with windmill. GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS!
2ND DIV : Runaway champions and a return to 1st division at the 1st time of asking for Singleton Barn B, well done! As it stands RUNNERS UP and promotion to 1st Div contested by 3 and extremely close to call, 2nd place kingshead vs barn A knowing 3 points and continuing to better other results or frames won should be enough, 3rd place OPOW SB away to champions, needing to better results of two other games. 4th place woolpack B would climb to 2nd if they win and other two lose. very much to play for and could see a playoff after these matches. Woolpack also have a game in hand being played on 31st, so is in there hands. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
Player of season and dish table also very well contested as always good luck to all fighting for this.
Good luck to all teams still in Team Knockout, and Plate knockout, these fixtures are online and taking place over the next few weeks.
I hope you all have enjoyed this season, If you have any suggestions or ideas on how to improve your league, the committee would be delighted to hear you views. Presentations and Registration details will be announced soon .
Please could all champions from last season kindly return there main trophies to committee members so we can swiftly enter new winners on them ASAP.
